SALISBVRGENSIS IVRISDICTIO nis, locorumque vicinorum vera descriptio Auctore Marco Secznagel Salisburgensis, from Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, Antwerp, 1584.
This charming map of the region of Salzburg has a lovely inset of a city based, according to Ortelius, on Münster. The map bears a bit of trompe l'oeil in the curling edges of the map's "paper". Subsequent plates of the region generally did not feature the inset or the trompe l'oeil.
The eight line poem at upper left translates: Whoever with his talents contributes to the splendid name of his native country, providing excellence through glory, deserves admiration from the next generation. Because Marcus [Secznagel] has achieved this welcome contribution, I pray to you, Salzburg, to cherish him to your bosom, and load him with honours on behalf of posterity.
